Constituent Stories

“I am a spinal surgery patient fused from my neck to my pelvis. After 5 years on fentanyl patches, I was able to get off them in 45 days with medical cannabis. My kids got their mom back, my grandson got his ‘munnie’ back.”

“I’ve had to drive to Virginia to obtain marijuana for my elderly mother before she got her card. Even now, I still have to pay to be her caregiver and drive too far because there aren’t enough options.””

“I have fibromyalgia, neuropathy, and arthritis. Thanks to cannabis capsules, I’m off 3 pharmaceuticals — I feel the best I ever have at 63”

“Stop restricting access to safe medicine. We are tired of being run by pharmaceuticals.”"

“I’m a recovering opioid and benzo addict. Cannabis literally saved my life and continues to make it easier to navigate life with anxiety.””

“Patients are driving out of state every day for the same medicine we should be able to get here.”

“As more states around us become legal, WV will lose even more money. Veterans like me deserve safe access here, not over the border.”

“Edibles, especially full-spectrum gummies, are not currently available. As patients with lung problems, not having that option makes no sense.”

Not everyone who uses cannabis uses it to get high — people can use it responsibly, like buying alcohol. Don’t punish the rest of us who use responsibly.”

““This state is driving money out — patients are buying in other states, or worse, from gas stations. WV is losing revenue every single day.”
