West Virginia’s Future Should Include Your Voice.
Cannabis policy affects West Virginians across the state, whether you use cannabis or not. Decisions about economic development, agriculture, public health, patient access, personal freedom, and local communities deserve public discussion.
Let WV Grow is working to make that conversation easier to understand—and easier to participate in.
You don't have to be a lobbyist, an industry professional, or a policy expert to make your voice heard. You just have to be willing to participate.

Subject: Support for Cannabis Reform in West Virginia
Dear West Virginia Legislator,
I am writing as a West Virginia resident to encourage you to seriously consider modernizing our state's cannabis laws during the 2027 legislative session.
I believe West Virginia should evaluate a responsible, well-regulated adult-use market for adults 21 and older, along with several important reforms:
Adult-use legalization: Establish a regulated market with appropriate age restrictions and consumer protections.
Home cultivation: Allow adults to grow a reasonable number of plants for personal use.
Fair taxation: Establish reasonable adult-use taxes and evaluate a fairer medical cannabis tax structure that does not unnecessarily burden patients.
Patient access: Review existing medical cannabis restrictions and expand access to safe, tested products and different methods of consumption.
Expungement: Provide relief for qualifying prior cannabis convictions for conduct that would no longer be illegal.
Economic opportunity: Create a fair path for existing businesses while encouraging investment, local jobs, agriculture, manufacturing, and small-business growth.
Community investment: Direct a portion of cannabis tax revenue toward public health, prevention, treatment and recovery, and local communities.
These changes should be considered alongside safeguards for children, responsible product testing and labeling, impaired driving prevention, and appropriate regulatory oversight.
West Virginia is surrounded by states taking different approaches to cannabis policy. I believe we should be evaluating our options rather than allowing economic opportunities and policy discussions to pass us by.
I encourage you to remain open to these reforms and support giving them serious consideration during the upcoming legislative session.
Thank you for your time and for representing West Virginia.
